The chimney falls
With a thud
After the lightning

And booming thunder
Uprooted trees
Roofs torn asunder
But in the calm
As we convalesce

There is a cleanness

And colds numbing bite

knife
By the east-wind’s
spite
Beneath the leafy canopy
Moonlight pierced the
darkness
And shafts of lunar
light
Like a brilliant laser
show
Illuminated the forest

The savage natural scene
In the winter meadow
